Support
Questions, problems, or feedback · We read every message
Email support@goodknight.ai and a real person will reply. We aim to answer within two business days. If something is broken at bedtime, say so in the subject line and we will prioritise it.
It helps enormously if you include: the child’s hero name, roughly when the problem happened, and what you saw on screen.
Stories & reading
A story won’t generate, or it stopped partway
Tap Try Again — most failures are a brief hiccup and the second attempt works. If a story was interrupted after it started, it will be waiting on the home screen under “Finish your story!” so nothing is lost.
If it fails twice in a row, check that your device has a working connection, then email us. A daily free story is never consumed by a story your child did not actually get to read.
The story idea we typed was rejected
GoodKnight checks story ideas before writing, because everything it produces is read by a child. Occasionally it declines a word that seemed harmless in context. Reword the idea slightly and try again — and if it keeps refusing something reasonable, please tell us, since that is a bug on our side.
The stories feel too easy or too grown-up
Open Settings › Reading Level and switch between ages 6–8 and 9–12. It changes vocabulary, sentence length, and how much tension a story carries. New stories use the new setting immediately.
Subscriptions & billing
I subscribed but the app still shows the free limit
Open Settings and tap Restore Purchases. This re-checks your Apple account and is the fix for almost every case, including a new phone or a reinstall.
Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID that made the purchase. If it still does not appear after restoring, email us with the date of purchase and we will sort it out.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they are cancelled through Apple: iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions › GoodKnight Stories › Cancel Subscription.
You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
I want a refund
Apple handles all refunds for App Store purchases. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We are happy to help you make the case — just ask.
Accounts & the parent PIN
I forgot the parent PIN
The PIN is stored on the device and we cannot read or reset it remotely. Reinstalling the app clears it; if your progress is attached to an account, sign back in afterwards and everything returns. Email us before reinstalling if you are unsure whether your progress is saved — we would rather check first.
My child played before we made an account. Will we lose the stories?
No. Creating an account from the same device carries the existing stories, stats, and items across.
Delete our account and data
In the app: Settings › Delete Account. This permanently removes the stories, progress, items, and account record. It cannot be undone, and it does not cancel an Apple subscription — cancel that separately using the steps above.
You can also email privacy@goodknight.ai and we will do it for you.
Notifications
The bedtime reminder never arrives
Check Settings › Storytime Reminder is on, and that notifications are allowed for GoodKnight in your phone’s system settings. You can change the reminder time in the same place if the default does not match your bedtime.
Anything else
Bug reports, feature requests, a story your child loved, or one that missed — all of it is useful, and it genuinely shapes what we build next.
